Bio

I am a dancer and creator born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Currently, I am a first year student acquiring my BFA in dance at The Ohio State University. Prior to OSU, I trained in a Brooklyn-based studio, Dancewave, in which I was a member of the Dancewave Company for five years. Throughout my time at Dancewave, I’ve had the opportunity to learn and perform the works of Andrea Miller, Kyle Abraham, Camille Brown, Larry Keigwin, and Shen Wei, as well as the opportunity to perform at Jacob’s Pillow in the summer of 2016. Learning excerpts from various choreographers is the source of my diverse understanding and discipline within modern and contemporary dance techniques. My style of movement arises predominately from improvisational exploration, welcoming a sensational experience. My most pleasurable moments are simply improvising in a space, in which I can notice, respond, and challenge my body’s natural choice of movement. As a writer and activist, I aspire to create multimedia works intended to depict and challenge societal expectations and manifestations.
